The Real Story Behind Gates/Crowley

So much has been written about the conflict between Professor Gates and Sgt. Crowley along with Gates' subsequent arrest. The usual 'racial profiling' charges were leveled. The counter charges of racialism and classism were also put forth. Perhaps some or all of these elements were at play, but the bottom line is far simpler.

Tapes of the incident not yet released to the public, but heard by credible sources told the story:
Crowley: "Sir, have you been drinking?"

Gates: "I've had a little. Word to yo' momma!"

Crowley: "What did you have?"

Gates: "A case of Busch."
So, there you have it. Once again, it's Bush's fault.

(Conan O'Brien, another credible source, told us that during the meeting at the White House, Crowley said to Vice President Biden, "Sir, you have the right to remain silent.")
