WOAI: SAN ANTONIO//NEWS:
"The separatist Republic of Texas group, which largely dissolved after an abortive uprising in the Davis Mountains left several of its leaders dead or in prison in 1997, has reformed, and is again pushing its message that Texas should be a free and independent nation, 1200 WOAI news reported today.
From a newly established 'capitol' in the east Texas town of Overton, Daniel Miller, President of the Republic of Texas Interim Government, says a desire to be free, combined with ballooning concerns over rising taxes and property rights, will convince more Texans to support a 'referendum' on whether Texas should become an independent nation."

Well, I was one of the few who succeeded in seceding-- if you call flight into a blue state seceding.
Then Texas Attorney General Dan Morales was after me big time, but as you know he was caught with a live girl-- by his wife, so he's no longer a threat to us.
"The election of James K. Polk on an annexation platform was interpreted as a demand for immediate action and induced Tyler to renew his efforts. In December 1844 he submitted a proposition for the annexation of Texas by joint resolution. Passed late in February 1845 the joint resolution provided for the admission of Texas as a state instead of a territory, gave it the privilege of keeping its own public lands, thus providing a source of revenue with which to pay its debts, and EXTENDED THE RIGHT TO DIVIDE ITSELF INTO AS MANY AS FOUR ADDITIONAL STATES." Remember Goliad...
Remember Waco...
Remember the Davis Mountains!
I guess that makes four.
Each with the right to secede or not, as they choose.
