Why McCain Selected Palin

One McCain aide, wishing to remain anonymous, told me that Palin was selected as running mate because no suitable option was found to fully counter the characteristics of Barack Obama. To match Obama, McCain felt that he needed a co-candidate that had long associations with an unrepentant abortion clinic bomber, long associations with a Ku Klux Klan church, and had memorized and practiced the tactics of Joe McCarthy, Richard Nixon, and J. Edgar Hoover.

John McCain was very disappointed that Barack Obama could not be matched so he settled for Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.
