The Left as a Foolish Woman

It is a common scene theme in Hollywood drama. A woman suffers at the hand of an abusive husband or boyfriend. A child suffers at the hand of an abusive authority. Often, the abused woman or child defends the character and action of the abuser, even going so far as to claim that they deserved the abuse and that if they changed their own behavior the abuse would stop.

Everyone watching this spectacle rolls their eyes and shakes their head in anger at the denial shown in these type of situations. The victim is blind and will only see more injury or even death in the future if proper steps aren't taken to stop the abuser.

We also see this same situation in American Leftist politics. On 9/11, 3,000 innocent Americans were murdered by an abuser. The foolish woman/childish Left blames our own country and excuses the abuser. 'If we would change our own behavior such abuse would stop.'

The Left provides various styles in its imposition of American guilt being at fault, responsible for its own abuse.

Reverend Jeremiah Wright:
'...the chickens come home to roost...'

'Not God bless America. No, no, no. God damn America.'

'The U.S. of K.K.K. A.'
William Ayers:
“teachers should be community organizers dedicated to provoking resistance to American racism and oppression… I'm a radical, Leftist, small 'c' communist."
Senator Barack Obama in Berlin speech:
As we speak, cars in Boston and factories in Beijing are melting the ice caps in the Arctic, shrinking coastlines in the Atlantic, and bringing drought to farms from Kansas to Kenya.

I know my country has not perfected itself. At times, we've struggled to keep the promise of liberty and equality for all of our people. We've made our share of mistakes, and there are times when our actions around the world have not lived up to our best intentions.
What are the prescriptions for change that will deter our abuser from hating and harming us? (Obama in Berlin)
This is the moment when we must build on the wealth that open markets have created, and share its benefits more equitably.
Yes, Plumber Joe, I want to spread the wealth around. 'Cause you, and those like you, are guilty for all the inequity in the world. So now you must stop asking all those impudent questions, obey, and sacrifice to bring to fruition the hope of my leadership and bring the change of which I have prophesied.

The lefties start out right: America wastes money and men "projecting power" and forcing open foreign markets. Those men and that money would be better used here. (My anti-war libertarian friends pretend that they wouldn't be kept busy defending America on our own shores and that we could be kept safe without spies and that's where I part with them. I'm pretty sure Bob Barr gets that.)

The lefties then, immediately after their good start, crank the wheel over as hard as they can and drive off the bridge.
