The trees are bare, many birds have gone south, the streets are icy, there is a thick blanket of snow that I had to help rearrange. But it hadn't yet struck me that the Wisconsin winter was upon us until today. In a weather report on the radio, the weatherman said that which brought winter to bear in its full reality. He said that it was 17 degrees- above.
