How the Wisconsin Badgers Will Win the NCAA Football Title

I am already celebrating the Wisconsin Badgers national Championship in football this season. After #5 Wisconsin defeats #3 TCU in the Rose Bowl, #13 Virginia Tech beats #4 Stanford in the Orange Bowl. #1 Auburn clobbers #2 Oregon in the BCS Championship to initially win the national championship. Auburn, however, is stripped of the title after quarterback Cam Newton is found to be in violation of NCAA rules. Wisconsin is named national champion.

Congratulations, Badgers!

You don't have to involve Stanford in this; it's not the B(C)S rankings but the pollsters that determine the final pecking order behind the B(C)S champion. At last check, Bucky was ahead of Stanford on that score, but because the computers hate on the Big Ten, that's why the final B(C)S rankings had the Faux Red ahead.

One more thing - while one of the minor national-championship awarding groups, the Football Writers Association of America, did strip USC of the 2004 title, neither did it award it to any other team nor did any other group, including the AP, the American Football Coaches Association (the two "human" parts of the BCS in 2004, with the coaches obligated to take the winner of the BCS "championship"), and the BCS itself, strip USC of its title despite USC's forced vacation of their win in the BCS "championship" game. Indeed, the AP affirmed that USC would be allowed to continue to call itself the 2004 national champions.
