A Swiss Zit

On March 29th of this year I excerpted an article by John Fund titled Cuckoo for Switzerland. My conclusion:
Our part of the Burri family left Switzerland about 100 years ago. Switzerland realized its mistake and undertook massive reforms to prevent further duplication of such egregious misfortune. The Old Country has done well.
It also appears, however, that the home land still misses its favorite sons in the worst way:
GENEVA (AFP) - Plants deserve respect, a group of Swiss experts said Monday, arguing that killing them arbitrarily was morally wrong -- except when it comes to saving humans or maybe picking petals off a daisy.

In a report on "the dignity of the creature in the plant world," the federal Ethics Committee on non-human Gene Technology condemned the decapitation of flowers without reason, among other sins.
I am required by law to place Swiss chocolate on the endangered species list.

(For those of you old enough to remember)
