Portuguese Water Dog

Pedro Cabral: The Original Portuguese Water Salty Dog

Portugal's King Manuel I chose and commissioned Pedro Cabral to continue the work of Vasco da Gama. In 1500, Cabral 'discovered' Brazil. He was given the mono-cultural commission to establish permanent capitalistic commercial relations and to introduce Christianity wherever he went, using whatever force deemed necessary. But to his diversity credit, Cabral found that the portion of Brazil upon which he landed was east of the line of demarcation set forth by the Treaty of Tordesillas. This meant that the nation formed from this discovery would belong to Portugal and ultimately not be controlled by blond-haired, blue-eyed Whites.

Small wonder that President Obama selected the Portuguese Water Dog as his family's pet.

By looking closely at the two pictures, one can easily see the resemblance.

Although the Obama girls chose the name 'Bo' for the dog, President Obama first favored 'Pedro.'

Another positive point in this acquisition is that Bo is a male. Any and all 'Bitch in the White House' jokes will remain unambiguous.
