Arlen John Edwards-Specter, Hyphenated Democrat

In 2004, Adam Liptak and Michael Moss write in a NYT article about John Edwards from a 1985 trial:
Referring to an hour-by-hour record of a fetal heartbeat monitor, Mr. Edwards told the jury: "She said at 3, `I'm fine.' She said at 4, `I'm having a little trouble, but I'm doing O.K.' Five, she said, `I'm having problems.' At 5:30, she said, `I need out.'"[...]

In January, 2004, J. Edward Carter reports a John Edwards statement in NRO:
“When John Kerry is president, people like Christopher Reeve will get up out of that wheelchair and walk again.”
Tom LoBianco posts on NRO yesterday, Arlen Specter:
"But as a matter of principle, I'm becoming much more comfortable with the Democrats' approach. And one of the items that I'm working on, Bob, is funding for medical research."

"If we had pursued what President Nixon declared in 1970 as the war on cancer, we would have cured many strains. I think Jack Kemp would be alive today.[...]"
