The Moderate Voice discusses the impasse between President Obama's initiatives and the stubborn Republican resistance:

At yesterday’s meeting, the President’s patience worn thin, and he accused Boehner of just wanting to kill all his initiatives, setting off what was reportedly a “testy exchange.”

In effect, Mitch McConnell and John Boehner have chosen not to practice traditional politics but act like a government-in-exile, retreating to the sidelines and sniping until they can return to power.

Smitty, et al., seeks to moderate The Moderate Voice, and ultimately finds the moderation.

But there is more moderation to be found in The Village Voice post. The use of the phrase 'retreating to the sidelines and sniping' is an accurate depiction. It is shown well by the following video where Purple People Eater, Jim Marshall demonstrates the Obama agenda:

Burial in More than Just an Obama T-Shirt

Clifton, proprietor of Another Black Conservative, discusses a recent Obama speech at the DNC. Clifton excerpts the following Presidential quote from the nearly 11 minute video:

I got a letter -- I got a note today from one of my staff -- they forwarded it to me -- from a woman in St. Louis who had been part of our campaign, very active, who had passed away from breast cancer. She didn't have insurance. She couldn't afford it, so she had put off having the kind of exams that she needed. And she had fought a tough battle for four years. All through the campaign she was fighting it, but finally she succumbed to it. And she insisted she's going to be buried in an Obama t-shirt.

Clifton then adds,

"If this doesn’t scream egomaniac, I don’t know what does. Didn’t he feel the least bit funny about mentioning the Obama t-shirt? I am glad the audience laughed at him,"

and follows up with a few contrary facts about the situation.

Obama is such a liar too. This woman, whose name he doesn’t even remember, had health insurance! To make matters worse, he is also lying about being committed to passing healthcare. He is just telling the audience that so they don't completely freak on him.

Well, my anonymous inside sources claim that there were portions originally in the speech that the President decided not to include for fear of Michelle's wrath:...

And she insisted she's going to be buried in an Obama t-shirt in a coffin designed like an Eternal Messiah Love Nest.

Judging from the shoes the woman chose, I suspect she was totally into clowns.

There has been a lot of comment on the President pronouncing 'corpsman' as 'corpseman'. Well, according to MoveOn.org and Organizing for America, this is a proper alternate pronunciation of the word.

In kindergarten, little Barry Obama titled an essay 'I Want to Become President.' The ball just kept on rolling from there. As demonstrated by his State of the Union address, the President has shown that he has begun to mimic a new model. This one being a real person, not a fictional character:

Obama's Bowing Shows Discipline

Much has been made of President Obama's bowing before foreign leaders and others whom he has just met. Most hold this respectful sign as a source of ridicule for the leader of the Free World. Some say he should curtsy instead.

However, I believe that the President is showing respect, offering friendship, proving a willingness to serve, and drawing on years of diligent discipline.

We all recall Van Jones. Van was Obama's White House Environmental Advisor who resigned in September amid wild racist and fanatical accusations by right wing sexist homophobe bloggers.

Mr. Jones couldn't be kept down by such smears. He immediately took a new job and succeeded beyond all expectations and paved the way for many other persons of failure to also find success.

Pulling Down 'Little Barry Hussein' Statue

JAKARTA

- Indonesian authorities said Monday they are considering a petition to tear down a statue of US President Barack Obama as a boy, only a month after the bronze was unveiled in Jakarta.

The statue of "Little Barry" -- as Obama was known when he lived in the capital in the late 1960s -- stands in central Jakarta's Menteng Park, a short walk from the US president's former elementary school.

Critics say the site should have been used to honour an Indonesian and 55,000 people have joined a page on social networking website Facebook calling for the statue to be removed.

Barack Obama traveled to Massachusetts to campaign for Martha Coakley and a Republican wins. Congratulations, Massachusetts.

When Obama went to Virginia to campaign for Deeds' gubernatorial run, the Republican won. Congratulations, Mike.

Obama went to New Jersey to campaign for Corzine's re-election as governor. The Republican won. Congratulations, Chris and Clifton.

Obama went to Copenhagen to campaign for Chicago's Olympic bid. Congratulations, Rio de Janeiro.

We residents of Janesville, Wisconsin learned the lesson of Obama's campaigning long ago. It was good for photo ops and good for Obama, but the ostensible target for receiving benefit of Obama's visit is badly damaged.

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008, Janesville readied to be honored by an Obama visit:

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama will be in Janesville on Wednesday morning.

“We had a conference call this morning, and it appears that his visit is going to be at the plant,” said Mary Fanning, General Motors plant spokeswoman.

Fanning said she could not release any more details until she had spoken with officials at GM headquarters in Detroit.

The Janesville Gazette reported on June, 3rd, 2008:

A decades-old rumor became harsh reality today when General Motors announced that it will cease production at its storied Janesville assembly plant by the end of 2010. [...]

“It’s not likely that any new products will be assigned to the plants scheduled to cease production, and it would be inaccurate for me to leave anyone with a lot of optimism about that.” [...]

GM’s closing will directly affect GM suppliers in Janesville.

Soon after GM announced its impending production cut, seating supplier Lear Corp. said it will lay off up to 336 of its 670 hourly employees. LSI, which sequences parts into the plant, said it will eliminate up to 132 of its 235 jobs. They are expected to end production entirely by 2010 when GM shuts down here.

“This was an extremely difficult decision for us to make,” Clarke said. “They’ve done a fine job at that facility producing great vehicles.

“We’ve had a great relationship with the people and the community.” [...]
