Centennial Anniversary

I didn't realize it until now, but Janesville, Wisconsin is celebrating a hundredth year anniversary this year. History has indeed also repeated itself in its hundredth year.

In 1908, the famous Socialist, Eugene Debs, visits Janesville.1

In 2008, the famous Socialist, Barack Obama, visits Janesville.2

No information yet whether Karl Marx or Bill Ayers ever visited Janesville. (Marx didn't answer our phone calls; Ayers called the Pigs* on us.)

*Pig is a 60's hippie term for police officer. As an M.P. serving in the U.S. Army, we thought it an acronym for Pride, Integrity, and Guts. We always made sure that the German hippies that were protesting our presence knew that after beating them with our clubs. (I didn't carry a baton, but a 12 gauge pump shotgun instead. Its butt served just as well.)
